Emily Meade is traveling to Plymouth to take up her position as governess. She learns from the children that she is their fifth governess in recent times, the previous four having left suddenly and without explanation.
Emily has a secret in her past that, if discovered, could cause her to lose her post. However, she is far enough from London that she feels her secret is safe.
If I had proofread this book, I would have corrected 24 errors in addition to incorrect punctuation.
I was caught up in the story as soon as I started. Everyone has secrets and the governess, has one. The writing was well done and kept me reading to find out the secret. As always there is the "other" lady, who has her sights set on the hero and she is nasty, and it is so in this book. I felt for the governess and angered by the other lady. The writer pulls you along while your emotions go out to the children and governess. A good and quick read.
I found this book to be sappy and boring. The writing is very uninteresting and I would not recommend it. The only positive thing I can say is it was clean.
So many changes, so many governess, the children are the ones to suffer. But why do governess continue to leave? Read on to discover the answer.
I so enjoyed this book !!!! It is sweet but also has suspense. What could be causing the governesses to flee so quickly ? Usually it would be the children but this soon proves untrue !!! To say more would ruin the wonderful plot and that I will not do !!! Read it for yourself and be very entertained !!!!! Virginia Hear
